Alicante Folklore & Ghost Stories from Santa Bárbara Castle High above Alicante, Santa Bárbara Castle sits on the peak of Mount Benacantil, its walls steeped in stories and legends. For as long as locals have been telling tales, they’ve whispered that this fortress is far more than stone and battlements. It is a place where…

From the tram station, Puig Campana rises over Benidorm like a silent, brooding sentinel. At first glance, its sheer bulk dominates the skyline, but it is a single, dramatic feature near its summit that immediately arrests the eye: a conspicuous, jagged gap known locally as El Portell — “The Gate.” This wound in stone, later…

When I was a little girl, I would sit cross-legged on the carpet with an atlas spread open before me. I treated it like a storybook, tracing the blue lines of rivers and the winding veins of mountain ranges with a fingertip. I memorised bolden cities and each name — Samarkand, Valparaíso, Reykjavik — shimmered…

When in Dublin.... When in Dublin....
After a week of headaches and avoiding my laptop, After a week of headaches and avoiding my laptop, the cards for the Quiet Rebel Survival Oracle are finished! Woo hoo!

Do you have a favourite?

I'm planning to launch on Kickstarter next Friday 24th. Follow on Kickstarter to get notified as soon as it goes live.
The next batch of cards for the Quiet Rebel Surviv The next batch of cards for the Quiet Rebel Survival Oracle. What's your fav from these cards?

I'm leaning towards card 33 - Be the Monster in the Woods. The keyword is Fierceness and it's the second time I've featured a Pankhurst (this is Christobel and in the original Quiet Rebel oracle Sylvia is featured in 'Not for Sale'). I've added little bees in this card to link to Manchester where the UK suffragette movement kicked off.

This work-in-progress oracle deck is almost finished. You can be notified when it's live by following on Kickstarter.
The Quiet Rebels are back. The Quiet Rebel Surviv The Quiet Rebels are back.

The Quiet Rebel Survival Oracle has officially been approved by Kickstarter and is preparing to make its entrance later this summer (when I finish the cards and see what kind of mess the EU tariff charges will cause me).

If emergency biscuits, reading the margins, and finding magic in everyday acts of rebellion sound like your sort of thing, follow the project on Kickstarter and click 'Notify me on launch'. You'll be first to know when the doors open ❤️
Halfway there! I've just finished the next batch Halfway there!

I've just finished the next batch of cards for the Quiet Rebel Survival Oracle, bringing the total to 22 cards and officially getting me to the halfway point. Hoorah!

It's been a slower week, partly because I took a day off to spend time with family in Manchester. We did a VR tour of Machu Picchu (which was pretty good but the same company does an ancient Egypt tour which is brilliant) and then sat in a cool pub having cocktails on what was the hottest day of the year.

It's been too hot to do much of anything. My poor laptop fan has been working harder than I have. We've even abandoned our usual wander around town because 30°C and above is apparently where I draw the line (actually, I often think 20C is too much). I was gifted a couple of bottles of wine this week too, but it's been so warm that even wine has felt like too much effort.

So, between the heat, the cocktails and a virtual trip to Peru, these eleven new cards somehow appeared. Onwards to the second half...
The first 12 cards from The Quiet Rebel Survival O The first 12 cards from The Quiet Rebel Survival Oracle. It was only going to be a mini, poker sized deck of 31 cards but it seems to have morphed into 44 wide tarot size. But it's never a chore, always an absolute pleasure, to create more cards :-) #quietrebel
